Head Coach - Lane Valimont

Lane Valimont grew up in the southeastern Wisconsin hockey community with time spent playing for local youth programs including Wisconsin AAA, Milwaukee Winter Club, and Arrowhead. His high school hockey included one year with Whitefish Bay followed by 4 years at New England Prep School, Avon Old Farms. Coming out of Prep School Lane was drafted by Cedar Rapids of the USHL and later Wenatchee of the NAHL. Ultimately, his 2 season Junior Hockey Career included stops with the Boston Jr. Bruins in the USPHL and Wenatchee, Odessa, and Johnstown in the NAHL. 

He went on to play Division III collegiate hockey with St. Norbert College from ’15-’17 and Marian University from ’18-’19. Following college Lane played a year of minor league professional hockey with the Birmingham Bulls in the SPHL before moving back to the area. In his first year after playing Lane joined the Arrowhead High School Program as an assistant coach, where he coached alongside his father during the final year of a 25-year coaching career at the program. Lane began coaching in a number of local programs during the offseason of his playing years. This included assisting with local camps ran by NHL and NCAA skill development coach Pertti Hasanen, coaching at the GRIT summer program, and implementing a core skill training program at Playerz Choice Hockey. He has since lead private skills training for players aspiring to play at the junior and collegiate levels. In his first year after playing Lane joined the Arrowhead High School Program as an assistant coach, where he coached alongside his father during the final year of a 25-year coaching career at the program.

Lane was a dedicated student of the game and fortunate to learn a lot from the coaches he played for over the years. He comes to MJA eager to give back to the community he gained so much from and to help develop the next generation of dedicated players in the area.
