Despite being one of the youngest teams in the tournament, the MJA Girls 16U team outscored their opponents 20-5 en route to a 17U Silver Championship game appearance.  Facing three Canadian teams in their pool, the Girls used strong team defense and solid goaltending to post a 1-0-2 record which placed them into the Silver division. The offense was on fire during the first two elimination games, beating Orangeville 5-0 and Windsor 6-1 to advance to the Championship game against the Bluewater Hawks.

Due to a rash of injuries, the Girls 16U team had played all weekend with just eleven skaters and by the sixth game in only 52 hours, exhaustion was a major factor.  Sheer grit and determination kept the championship game tied at 0-0 at the end of the second period but Bluewater was able to score twice in the final period to take the Championship.  The Admirals finished the weekend with a 3-1-2 record and look forward to the Christmas tournament in Mississaugua, Ontario and a rematch with the Canadians!
