Quinn grew up in the Chicagoland area, where he played AAA hockey for Chicago Mission, Team Illinois, and the Chicago Fury. He continued his hockey career with the Topeka Pilots in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) from 2018 to 2020 before moving on to play NCAA Division I hockey at the University of Alabama–Huntsville. Quinn later transferred to the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, where he was named WIAC Player of the Year, earned All-American honors in his junior season, and graduated with a degree in Information Systems. In 2023, he represented Team USA at the FISU World University Games, winning a silver medal.
Before joining Milwaukee Jr. Admirals, Quinn worked at MAP Hockey (Minnesota Advancement Program), a development program based in Minnesota known for training elite youth and junior players. At MAP, he specialized in on-ice skill development, his role involved designing and leading high-tempo practices tailored to individual player growth, while also serving as a mentor for aspiring athletes pursuing junior, collegiate, and professional hockey paths.
